Having had reservations about this purchase, my previous experience being of poor quality shaving results etc.. I was/am very pleasantly surprised.. smooth finish, no burning, easy cleaning.. an excellent product.

A good shave, very comfortable and as other reviewers have already pointed out it is very kind on the neck and does not leave red marks like other electric shavers.

The shave is clearly not going to be as close as a blade, and it's not actually any closer than my last Philips shaver which was a lot cheaper than this. However it looks good, is easy to clean and gives a smooth shave so I found it worth the money.

The pop out trimmer is not particularly outstanding, but does work. The instructions say to remove the shaving head before you use the trimmer, but you don't actually need to do this.

Would have preferred a travel case, but nevermind.

I brought this shaver to replace a 2 year old philishave HQ8150 which was getting a little tired. I must say I was very impressed with the quality of the shave, much closer than the old model. This model took a few minutes to get used to and is much lighter than the old models but after a few minutes I was away.
I am quite surprised by the people who have left negative reviews as I can't fault this shaver, the only thing I can think is that they have not used philshave before and have previously used a shaver with a flat foil rather than the three floating heads, it does take a couple of weeks for your face to become accustomed to the three heads system and it can seem uncomfortable at first but if you persevere you will see the benefit.
